still waiting......

Hey everyone. No news here. Just saw on someone elses blog who was a week ahead of me at the DC embassy, that they just made it to the MFA. Yeah! Maybe mine will follow soon. My agency says it takes at least 8 weeks to go thru the DC Embassy.

On the pet front, my kitty Bella was missing for a few days. I have a cat door and they go in and out and Bella travels to see other families in the neighborhood. We've lived here for 6 years without any problems. So when I got home from a trip and she wasn't around I checked at the nearest vet's office. Seems Miss Bella was picked up by the Po po and taken down to the slammer! Poor thing. I was so upset, apparently there is a leash law for cats! Who knew?? However it is not really enforced unless someone calls in. I think it was a case of mistaken identity. There is a gray tomcat that sprays everything and I think they were after him because they picked up every gray cat on the street. It is still hard not to look at my neighbors differently now! Time to move to the country!!

Please help me pray that there is movement soon. I have a birthday soon and I'll be 2 years from turning 50. Gotta get it done soon!!

Things will move for you--I just know it. you will be all settled in before you turn 50. When is your B-day??--please tell me.

I agree with everyone - it will be soon, you will be an old hand about motherhood by the time you are 50 and I hope you post it everywhere when you get your region assignment - which personally I hope is Aktau!!

I know you've heard this 1000 times by now but hang in there, your turn is coming!

Hi,

I have been following your blog.
If it helps, I adopted this year. I was 49 when I met my child in Kaz, and 50 by the time I went to court.

Yes, it was a cliff-hanger for me.

You have bags of time yet, so relax.

I'm hoping the time just flies by and you're on that plane ride home soon! I've been thinking about you and praying for you. And now I will pray for your cat with a criminal record. Hehe. My Louie is a bit of a neighborhood hoodlum as well and could easily find himself incarcerated. Now I will know where to look for him. I had no idea they would pick up cats!

Hang in there. It does take around 2 months to get it approved. And keep your kitty safe and out of trouble!

Hi Lisa....sending over warm hellos and wondering how all is going? It nice to see that the overall process is moving, i.e, the other family that has gone through MFA....Our prayers are also with your dossier and of course little Sam.. :) Hang in there...so much..happens for a reason. Have a great Halloween :) Are the doggies dressing up?

Hi Lisa,
Just got home and had to check in on you--thinking of you all the time.
Thanks for the tip on the Yotel--it worked out really well and provided me a much needed rest in my travels.

Looking for Sam

This is a blog of my quest to adopt a child from Kazakhstan. Enjoy!
