Summer in Almaty!!

I haven't said much on this blog because I have a new private blog for the time being. After court I will be a little more open about my experiences. It's been a rocky road but it looks like things are going to work out for me!! I am in Almaty Kazakhstan. I have met a beautiful little girl who just turned a year old in June. She is Kazakh with beautiful almond shaped eyes and the sweetest little person that I have ever met!! I have found my Sam but not quite the way I expected.....The SAM comes from the words Stella And Me. Just note...you NEVER know where life will lead you and NEVER say never!!! And what Mary and I have been saying to each other over the past 3 years....you are exactly where you should be right now!! Things truly happen for a reason! All my delays led me to this sweet precious girl....Stella.

Congratulations! I am a friend of Lou Ann's and worked with Erin on our adoption one year ago in Aktau. I have been following your blog for news for a while and am thrilled to read you are in Kazakhstan - and getting to spend the summer in Almaty! Lucky! Aktau was SO DARN HOT last summer that we thought we had found paradise when we finally got to spend the last five days of our trip in Almaty. Good luck on the rest of your journey and if I can be of help in any way, Lou Ann knows how to reach me =)

Count us out of the loop too!

Sounds like you are already enjoying the Almaty experience (we loved it, our daughter's home town) and that you have found your destiny - so-to-speak. But more details soon. Please!!!

We were in Almaty from February to April 2008. We constructed a top 10 list of at least 12 things to do while there if you are interested (http://yeomans2kaz.blogspot.com/2008/06/almaty-top-12.html). You have probably already experienced many of them, but just in case you want some other recommendations...

And if you want one additional "favourite" of ours to add to the list - we both really liked Govindra's, a vegetarian Hare Krishna restaurant experience entirely in Russian - where else in the World could one have such a ridiculously surreal outing.

Anyhow, we are absolutely delighted to hear of your experience so far but, as stated above...more!!

Best of luck with the rest of your processing.

Congratulations! I once had a friend tell me that international adoption was not an easy road but that as long as you were willing to persevere that in the end it would all work out. I’m so glad that it did for you. I went to Kaz at the end of last July and met my little Kaz cutie (I was in Shymkent). Hopefully you have air conditioning where you are staying.

Congratulations on both the end of your adoption journey and the beginning of your new family. Welcome to your new life:) Everything will soon be well worth it (and believe it or not, all the tribulations along the way forgotten)

All the Best, Jill Chase (We blogged back and forth for a bit @ a yr ago:)
