I read an article about finding a stuffed animal or toy and taking pictures of it around your house, with you and your family and taking the toy and the pictures to the orphanage to leave with your child. In simple terms this connects the two worlds for the child. I found this Bear(s) in Amsterdam, it's just perfect. Then I thought, what if the bear got lost or damaged at the orphanage? The next week in Amsterdam I looked at several stores and finally found another Bear as a backup. What if this is "the" Bear that he will sleep with for the next 10 years.......maybe I should buy more!!

I did this with our son. We brought a yellow ducky and a photo album of all our family with the duck. He loves to hug and kiss Ducky now. Great idea!

Cute Idea! I think I'll do that. I have the perfect teddy bear picked out!

We did that with our oldest son and left a giraffe with him. The caretakers would not let him sleep with it but did put it above his crib, along with a picture of us. (This was Russia). Its a great idea.

What a wonderful idea--where every it started, you are the first one I heard it from and I plan to copy it with a pink stuffed Lion--the first toy I bought for my daughter.

We did this with our son as well - it is a great idea! We left a puppy at the baby house which disapeared, but we brought a similar one back with us. He likes to hold it when he looks at pictures of our pups at home.

Your bear is cute and the room is looking great :)

Merry Christmas :)
