Ode to Phil.....

On the home front we had some sadness. Remember Phil, the guinea pig?  My friend came over for a visit with her dogs.  Earlier in the day we had Phil out playing in the yard.  He had to be the most spoiled guinea pig on earth! When Tina comes by she brings him all sorts of veggies....this week snap peas last week mustard greens. She even bought him this pouch you see him in, in this photo.

Anyway, we knew her dogs were a problem so when they were around we would keep Phil (in his cage) in another room with the door shut.  We went outside for a few minutes to talk to a neighbor and came back in the find that we had left the door open and Katie, a lab/shepherd mix had knocked over the cage and had gotten Phil.  Poor Phil. I feel awful and so especially does Tina. He was such a sweet thing.

On the adoption front.  I received my Home Study report.  Perfect with the exception of the notary stamp.  It expires in 2 months! I just don't understand, this is an agency that does Home Study reports for International adoptions (even Kazakhstan) all the time. Another delay in the progress.  However to be honest I am still waiting on my birth certificates from Georgia before I can submit.  Almost there......just a little more time......

Sorry to hear about Phil--I know you enjoyed him so much.
Can't believe the notary--a small problem compared to some we have had but it is annoying just the same.
Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog. Even though our adoption paths are different, we still have a lot in common and I will always keep in touch.
take care my friend.

Lisa, so sorry to hear about Phil. My cats are truly part of my family, so I can appreciate how you feel.

Good grief on the notary! They better hustle and get it right. Also, may I also suggest that you make sure they do the notaries correctly for the social worker and agency licenses! Mine got rejected by the SOS office the other day because there wasn't the correct fiat on them signed by the actual license holder. In otherwords, the social worker has to sign a statement in front of a notary that says it's her license and it's true and correct. The notary then notarizes THAT statement, and no one else from the agency can testify that it's a true copy. Fortunately, anyone from the agency can make a similar statement that the copy of the agency's license is true and correct. If you get a chance to drive to Austin to get your notaries done, let me know! I'm glad that I did it all in person...although it took two trips, each meeting was less than 30 minutes! yeah.

Well, ok, enough rambling. I'm excited for you! Susan
