you can kill alot of time if you really want to put your mind too it....

Last week I had quite the adventure. I just got off working my Amsterdam flight when my friend called me, I was literally heading to customs. She asked what I was doing and did I want to come to Vegas? She had a last minute schedule change that took her to Vegas for 24 hours. What?! Sure!! Let me go back through to the airport and find out when the next flight leaves and if I can get on! I look and there is a flight going to Vegas in 30 minutes! So I walk quickly through the airport, trying to check in on my iphone and get there with about 15 minutes to spare! There are no seats available but lucky for me I am qualified to sit on the jump seat....there goes the idea of a glass of wine! I get to Vegas at about 4 pm and taxi to the Hilton where I proceed to the first gift shop and I buy something to wear. I then get to the room and thank goodness my friend had taken the liberty to buy a bottle of wine! Yeah! I shower and get the past 16 hours of grunge off and we are off. We had a wonderful dinner at Nobu at the Hard Rock...OMG...wish we had one in Texas and then off to the Chris Angel Show at the Luxor. Got about 4 hours of sleep then back to the jump seat....no seats left on the flight home.

So much fun! And you know what? I think I only checked my email (for adoption news of course) maybe once or twice?? Sometimes it is good to be distracted. I haven't done anything this spontaneous in sooooo long. Felt good!

Sigh. I miss those days of spontaneity! That sounds like tons of fun and it's a good thing you are getting it out of your system! Ha! Speaking of which, how will you manage your work schedule/trips after the baby comes? Heck, my hubby and I have a hard enough time managing our travel schedules between both of us! Of course, everyone always tells you to enjoy yourself before you become a parent because your life will change in a major way but it is really hard to do when you are anxious to just get on with it!

How fun! Sounds like a blast! Sponaneity for us usually has at least a 24 hour advance warning... : )

Hey does spontaneous laundry or dishes count? Glad you had fun and were distracted for 24 hours. Now go organize a closet or something equally fun to get through the next 24!

I love your spunk and spontaneity. Sounds like a great 24 hours! Good for you, Lisa -- enjoy it now, as it takes slightly more planning to haul a bunch of baby stuff to Vegas. :-)

So cool that you could do that. It is true that spontaneity is different with a kid in tow--but not impossible, just might not be Vegas. so glad you had fun.

Looking for Sam

This is a blog of my quest to adopt a child from Kazakhstan. Enjoy!
