This is my time line so far....

June 16, 2007 Attended an informational meeting hosted by Children's Hope International. (the meeting was great, decided on adopting from Kazakhstan)
June 19, 2007 Sent in my application, absolutely no doubts now!
June 29, 2007 I was in Amsterdam and found out that I was accepted by CHI!!!! So happy!
October 22, 2007 Home study visit (went well....I hope!)

October 27, 2007 2nd visit home study visit (I have a great social worker, easy to talk to)
December 13, 2007 Last of psychiatrist appointments (required for single applicants) December 19, 2007 Received final Home Study report. Favorable!
December 20, 2007 Sending off to U.S. Citizenship & Immigration, application for Advance Processing of Orphan Petition
January 4, 2008 Fingerprinted at the USCIS office in Houston
January 10, 2008 Most doccuments apostilled in Austin, sent papers on to CHI
January 17, 2008 Received the I-171H form from USCIS
January 18, 2008 Back to Austin to have I-171H apostilled, sent on to CHI
February 14, 2008 Dossier complete and sent on to be translated
February 22, 2008 Dossier sent on to Embassy of Kazakhstan
April 28, 2008 Dossier to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Hi Lisa,
I'm so happy for you. I am also adopting from Kazakhstan with CHI. I applied in Feb. and got my dossier sent to CHI in August. It is now in Kaz and I am waiting.
There is so much mystery in this adventure of International Adoption but is is so exciting.
