Hermes the Hermit crab...it's a miricle!

Ok......I am really confused!  Which seems to happen often.  A week ago, at least, I looked into Herme's (rescued Hermit Crab) aquarium.  He hadn't moved from his spot in a couple of days so I picked him up and he actually fell out of his shell in pieces.  I felt bad because it looked like he had been gone for awhile.  So today I was thinking that I really should dump out the sand and clean up the aquarium.......I look at it......what??!!! I see crab legs coming out of the shell!!!!  It's Hermes!!  It's a miracle.....he's a live!! LOL!! The only thing I can think is that there may have been another crab, I guess dead, already living in the new shell I got him?

So miracles really do happen......maybe not always the way that you expect them to........I am still praying for my miracle that my dossier will keep moving despite the gender issue and that I will receive good news soon!!  Amen!

PS........ha, ha.....had I done my homework on the habits of Hermit Crabs....I would have known that prior to Herme's miraculous revival.....he was exhibiting all the signs that he would be soon molting.  He was eating a lot and digging into the sand.  Apparently they develop gelantinous new appendages and then they drop their old outer shell and then their new appendages harden.  They actually eat their old shell.  I am so glad I didn't bury him or kill him off a second time!
