Home Study Update

Ok Q....here i my update..LOL! For the last few months I have been trying to schedule my HS update. The agency called me on Thursday in AMS and said can we do it on Sunday....What?! Yes...um no...um...yes!! I had appointments all day on Friday so that left me Saturday to clean.  Boy did I power clean.  The visit went really well.  The SW said she should have the report to Children's connections by the end of this week!  Wow...my first one took 3.5 months!!!!!!

So I have been officially accepted by Kids to Adopt!  I am really excited to be working with Erin Tucker and Svetlana in Kaz.  Way back when, I think in June, when things were moving very slowly in Kaz....my friend Lou Ann got me in contact with Erin, who tried to help myself and Children's Hope.  Her coordinator in Kaz was willing to take on a couple of families through CHI to alleviate the work load that CHI had.  Dossiers were not moving and Svetlana had time.  Mine and other CHI families dossiers where sitting at the MFA or the MOE. My agency at the time, CHI, choose not to accept the help from Svetlana and her team.  I was floored.  Svetlana is well know in Kaz as she helped start the IA program.  Since that time, all of my friends who Svetlana offered to help, have had to start over from scratch.  The reasons for the dossiers coming back where as listed;
1. Never left the embassy due to corruption? (but told their dossier was at the MFA for almost a year)
2. Chose a gender on dossier (but willing to take either)
3. Expired paperwork (minor paperwork not the big ticket items)

Anyway....thanks for letting me vent.  I have High Hopes that this time I will be succesful! Erin is wonderful and will keep me posted every step of the way.  Svetlana is the best and strong in Kaz.  Thanks Lou Ann, again, for all you have done.  I still have hopes that when you get back to Texas that Alexi and Sam will be the best of friends!

Thanks guys for all the wonderful comments that you leave.  I have been so bad about reading blogs because it just got too depressing.....to see people traveling with shorter wait times or to see others dossiers come back for fixable reasons.  I am soooo happy to be in limbo no longer!!! Moving on!!!!

Lisa,
I am so happy that you are no longer in limbo. Each step in the process will bring you closer to Sam. Hang in there and keep your eye on that prize.

HI Lisa,
Great to hear things are going well and to hear the excitement in your post. I know Sam is out there waiting for you.
It is fun to see your house--what a cute house with lots of character. Exactly like I pictured your house would be.

Hey Lisa,
I saw your post on my blog.
Did you check out the quilt raffle and get your tickets bought. You could be winning a handquilted Kazakhstan flag to hang in Sam's room.
